shopping family dental insurance (united states)

so. Any suggestions?

so far i have delta dental at 308 a month and they still only cover half of root canals, crowns etc...with with a deductible.

I have Delta as well through my work benefits, granted the employer pays the majority of the premium, but the coverages are similar. Only regular checkups are 100% covered. All other stuff is covered 50% or 80%. My plan also has a max payout per year. I think it's only $1500. Once they pay that max amount, coverage goes to 0%.

I've looked at other dental plans...I think Aflak my offer dental...was a while ago. The only issue I saw was they there was a minimum 6 month to a year waiting period before full coverage kicked in.

their all crooks. Maybe i shouldn't have any dental plan and just pay out of pocket? Too bad i bought a year of it already (i think i can still cancel though) I have a work policy through delta dental as well, already, soon to be losing covering and terminating (i think). So was looking to pick one up for a co-insure and carry both until the work one piddles out then end up with the one primary.

But yeah, for the price might as well pay out of pocket for dental services, you pay half of everything anyway..

starting to make me wonder if i should have no dental insurance instead.

I used to have delta, now i have metlife. Same, same. They cover 50% but I only pay like $7 per check for the whole family.
