I may be able to buy a broken Canon EOS 600D or Rebel T3i whoever you prefer to call it for very cheap, around $25, but I am unsure if it is worth it.
The issue with the camera is that it was dropped while there was no lens attached and the mirror inside was smashed, I do not know of the state of the rest of the camera. I don't really know how much it costs to get the mirror replaced, most likely more than the camera is worth but do you guys think it is a worthy investment to perhaps try to sell for parts - though I don't eve know how to take one of these things apart for parts.

Thanks,
Star

If there's something in it that you would find useful then it's probably worth it, otherwise I doubt it!
I have ended up taking the mount of a busted camera to jury rig a lens adapter that wasn't available. In cases like that a wrecked camera can be a suitable source of donor parts even if it's not the same model you use.
It is possible that you'll enjoy stripping down the bust camera (I often do, but I know I'm weird) so the $25 might just be worth it for that :)

If you don't particularly enjoy stripping down the camera, you'll probably find any parts you can separate will be VERY slow to sell. I'd very much doubt buying it to strip would be a financial success.

Only if you need parts to fix another one. It'd cost you more to repair than it would to buy one that works.

Doorstop material but rocks are cheaper.

Here in uk the used market price on a 600d is low. It was not worth training my old one in I used it for those trips to the beach. Unless you want the fun of stripping it down it’s not worth the money

As others have stated, unless you need a donor it isn't worth it. In all likelihood you can find a used "working" model for less than the repair cost.

Just looked at the price I could get for a B grade BODY ONLY 600d. 70GBP SEVENTY QUID
Dont know what your dollar is. in British pounds.

You also mention stripping it for parts to sell onto others.

However when damaged and new units are already going for very cheap prices, you won't have much profit to make off components inside.

Furthermore if you're asking the question you are, this likely means you've no idea how to strip it into effective parts that repairers want and will pay for. So you'd have a lot of legwork on your own to work out all that before you could strip and advertise the parts (not to mention knowing where or how to sell them since many parts repairers might only use places like ebay for whole cameras etc so won't even search for components).

Honestly I echo the others, I'd just pass on this. You can buy a good condition working model for a cheap price if you want a camera; and parts are unlikely to be something you could sell or easily sell at profit.

That is pretty cheap, my dollar is the New Zealand dollar which is worth approximately 2.1 times less meaning it would cost around $150 for me which is still a pretty decent deal I reckon and cheaper than getting this one repaired.
I would rather go for a mirrorless camera anyway as I am a birdwatcher trying to get more skilled at photography and it's time for me to move on from my old Olympus digital camera so I will probably save up for a mirrorless of some kind that is good secondhand.
