Hi all
I've been trying some sillouette shots,
Any advice, no editing has been used.
What would you do to edit this?
Thanks!!

you shold have shot the whole body.
and the photo is leaning to the left

I think the technique and lighting is very good, but I'm not fond of the pose; I agree that a full-body portrait of the person would be better, and I think the dog should be more recognizable.

I do not like silhouettes that completely black out the subject. I think a well-done silhouette will leave some of the subject details exposed. So in this shot, I would have used a longer shutter speed. As far as composition, I agree that it needs some work.

With as little color and texture information the image gives, I get a strong sense of place from it which is good. But I feel sorry for the one armed lady and her two legged dog.

The dog may seem two-legged, but it looks like it's compensating with a huuuuge.........

Anyway, with the sun right behind the lady, you could get a nice glow effect, which I think can look pretty nice if performed correctly

edit: I just had to, sorry! here's a quick portrait edit.

Anyway, the glow is magnified here.

What is that thing on the left.......looks like a silhouette of something NWS lol.

Tirediron, I think Bryan Peterson makes this same point in Understanding Exposure.

Yeah the composition on the second one is rough with the dogs tail and the man.
It feels awkward.

I would go through Flickr and check some silhouettes out!

Thanks for all the advice!
Some of you mention a fullbody shot, how would you do this while keeping the dog in the shot?
