I like #1 much more than #2. The tonal range in #1 is pretty on-point, and the shadows of the trees look nice. All I would change is to straighten up the building and make it more square.
 
#1 over processed for my taste
#2 I like, but would like to see more details in shadows, needs straightening

I do agree that #1 is a little over processed, but I think it suits still. #2 though is more to my liking

It looks like perhaps the building (and sky) were processed separately from the rest and I think the eerie glow of the building looks good but the grainy haloing in the sky from processing is too much.

The second image is more of a problem.
The waterline is tilted severely and the reflections are badly clipped.

I like #1 and would like to see more detail in the shadows in #2.

Sorry for premature carriage return above, I'm totally out of it this AM.

I am not against tilted horizons or buildings or clipped reflection or shadows as long as they are done for artistic reasons.
In the second picture, there doesn't seem to be a reason for it.
