Slowest SP hand held you can shoot?

From what I've learned here --> http://www.thephotoforum.com/forum/...-making-yourself-tripod-versus-using-one.html

I put it all to good use and took a 1.3 second shot, f/11, 21mm, ISO 100

This is what it looks like at 1/30 , f/3.8, 21mm , ISO 100

My best body position, which is what I also use when shooting my kids soccer is:
one knee on the ground, one leg up, body lower to the ground
one elbow on the knee that is up
other elbow arm against my body.
one hand cradling the lens
other on the ready position.
I'll roll my finger more than push the release down, even on continuous shooting.

There is a difference between the slowest speed you can do and the slowest speed you are confident you will do. I too have some lucky sharp shots at 1/10 sec and such, but in real life shooting anything lower than 1/60 may well be blurred. I had a lot of disastrous 1/40 sec shots in the days when I was reluctant to raise the ISO. And I am not talking about a long zoom. 1/125 is my usual safe limit when I do not have much time to prepare. But I much prefer 1/200 and higher. I guess I am really bad at it.

There' are some shots where you just have to do it. This pictures was taken in the rain. I wanted to get the outline of the RenCen in the background but at a ISO 200 the outline was gone. I had no choice to keep a slower shutter speed as that was the only setup that worked, and I tried a bunch too. I was at f/18 on a couple shots, etc etc but shooting in the rain is difficult as the background is way back there is shrouded by the rain between there and where I was shooting.

The plaque talked about the city of Detroit (and Japan & the trees) so I had to get it in the background. I'm going back one of these days and retaking all my shots in clear weather !!

1/15th with a 300 2.8 4.5 minutes at my eye 500th second with a 400 2.8( sore shoulders and back at the end of the day)

The secret is more muscle mass and breathing.
