For years I have been using a Canon Rebel and love it. Due to back problems, I need a lightweight camera for travel. Can anyone recommend a small camera that will be easy to carry around? I would prefer something that will still allow me to set the aperture and any other features that will give me some creativity.

There are a myriad options in the point and shoot category. My own point and shoot is a Panasonic and it provides reasonably complete exposure control in a package the size of a pack of cigarettes. The other manufacturers also have comparable products.

If you want to go a little larger you may want to look into the mirrorless models. They provide image quality comparable to DSLR's in a somewhat smaller size. They also provide for interchangeable lenses. Go to one of the big camera sites like B&H and look at the mirroless and higher end point and shoot models.

I really like my Sony a6000 as an always-with- me camera. And there are great deals on it now at B&H and Adorama with two decent lenses.

Depending on your budget, I'd say check out the Sony A6000, A6300 & A6500.

M43 format is another option like the Olympus OM-D E-M10.

If you want to stay in the Canon family, then you can check out the EOS M3 & M5.

If you really want lightweight, then check out the Sony RX100 models or even the RX10.

But without knowing your budget, it's kind of hard to provide a recommendation.

look at mirrorless cameras - small, lightweight and good for travel (and they also can use the DSLR lens) e.g Sony, Canon M3, M5, etc

I agree, mirrorless is small and lightweight - pocket-size - excellent for travel

Agree with Gary on this. Had a change to play around with one and it is fantastic, especially the viewfinder. Everything is right where it should be in terms of dials. Exceptional image quality too.
