so i live in the valley of virginia and we've gotten quite a bit of snow today...making for some great shots or so it seems....what tips do you all have for shooting in the snow?

Pay attention to what you are metering. If you use the settings recommended by a light meter when metering off snow, you will be 2 or 3 stops underexposed.

Yes, thats true, and that´s because the meter only "sees" greys, and all the white of the snow will be taken as a grey... so lie your "camera" and tell her to overexposure the snow landscape. You´ll got a whiter and inmaculate snow!

I tend to bracket a lot when shooting with snow. I always start one or two stops over and bracket from there.
