Snowy bridge portrait

In this shot, I put the subject central with lines from the bridge leading to her. But does it look like a snapshot? How could I have altered her pose to make the photo more effective? Thank for cc.

I feel it's a nice photo and looks like it's better than just a snapshot. Is it cropped? Her right hand is cutoff. Also, the out of focus snow right in front of her face is distracting. Possible clone that out (focus does not seem to be right on her eyes).

Thank you . I think I accidentally cut off her right hand in the original shot.

Do you think the shot below is better? Or does it have the same issues with the snow etc? I think I can edit the background to bring out the shape of the bridge more.

Second shot is much better! Even though its part of the scene, I would remove the two snow flakes on her forehead. When looking at her eyes, it drawls my eyes away.

I think the second attempt is a very good shot. I wouldn't change the background as you will only try and make it similar to the foreground and as it is there is an excellent separation between the subject and the background. Changing, or equalising that separation will only diminish and flatten the shot. I would remove the snow in front of the face and widen the aspect ratio for better composition and balance something like below. Otherwise leave it alone!

The biggest improvement would be softening the scarf and addid sharpening/contrast to the face and eyes. I suspect that the camera locked on to the strong, contrasting black and red patterned scarf, and missed the face and eyes by a small amount. Same issue in shot #1...the shot is slightly front focused. The biggest problem on shot two is that Texas ruby grapefruit-sized sharp spot on the scarf, which is where the focus landed. The scarf is very eye-catching as it is, and with her face slightly behind the focus plane, it's quite a conflict. Tone down the scarf, and boost the face and eyes.
