Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Spent all afternoon and most of last night reading books and websites to learn all the settings on my camera and about how to take good photos, and the best macro lens to buy and seems I've hardly touched the surface. Will I ever know it all? Did you all feel like this? :)

I'm only a year in and I haven't even touch the surface on what I need to learn. I'm taking baby steps and trying not to overwhelm myself.

Keep reading and keep practicing. Work hard at it and soon you will be very comfortable with the major aspects.

Baby steps, one section at a time. That's what I'm doing =) Plus, all the reading can't beat going out there and actually try it. That's what I'm going to do in a few minutes. :blushing:

...like anything else, you will never stop learning!

That is the ultimate truth.

I have 30+ years of experience both as an artist and a commercial/pro photog and I still learn new things all the time. I stay here on TPF not just because I like to share what I know, I also learn a lot. And some of what I learn here comes from the newest of the newbies. If you are open minded, everyone has something to teach you.

I began darkroom work when i was 10, almost 64 years later I am still learning. One of my daily goals is to lean something new. WIth Digital it is an easy goal :sexywink:

Just remember... you can take 1000 pictures and they won't cost you a dime. Set your camera up on a tripod and point it at something like a flower on a table.

Take a picture, change the aperture. Take another picture, change the shutter speed... take them into a program on your computer that lets you browse them and shows you your settings at the same time... this will really help you put aperture, shutter speed and iso together. Also... be sure to try different angles of the same subject, and place that subject in different parts of the frame. You'd be amazed at how much you can glean from something as simple as doing this a few times. Don't be afraid to delete all of them, they're going to suck at first :)

I've been doing photography almost daily for 30 years, and still usually learn something new related to photography every day.
