The way the red stood out against the green:

Thanks. 2 was one of those slightly weird colour effects you get in the afternoon far up the west coast, the missus quite likes it as well. 5 reminded me of Cezanne in the way outline of the tree tops follows the contours of the hills.

Very nice Tim, 2 is my favourite but I'm always biased towards the coast.

Those Caledonian pine forests can be beautiful, but hard to shoot in. At least it looks a bit drier!

It's looking south from The Sands on Gairloch. The hill on the far left is Slioch on Loch Maree, then Ben Eighe followed by the Torridon Hills. Quite a dramatic view. I'll keep experimenting with the forests, one day...
