Liam - No hander

These are cool. Your buddy Liam looks good enough to ham it up for the camera. Have him do a couple no handers and look at the camera. Usually you'll get some pretty intense looks on their face. Keep it up, they look good.

in the last one he blends in to the background too much. Observe him making the jump a couple of times, figure out where you want him to be in the background, get ready and then take the picture. The image would be a lot better if you were closer and lower and had gotten him against the blue sky instead of the trees that he blends in to.

edit: the 3rd is too noisy to be usable as is, I know there probably wasn't a whole lto you could do about it with low light and also needing a quick shutter speed, but it's just too noisy to use 'straight'. Might as well just slap a vintage effect on so it looks like it is supposed to be that way.

I like the first one. Nice and sharp.

Ok. Not trying to be mean just trying to give some honest feedback as requested.

#1 - Sharp but composition is bad. You cut off the feet of the dog and have a bunch of dead/distracting space above. Specifically the tips of the fingers on the right. This could be better if the dog was not centered and didn't have his feet/legs cut off.

#2 - Not sure what you are trying to show here. The guy on the right is cut in half and the guy on the left has what ever that is in the background coming out of his face. Again good sharpness though.

#3 Way too noisy, can't see his face and the DOF is too large. You could improve this by being on the other side where you would get his face or on the platform right below him shooting upward.

#4 Better. But get the other guy out of there and get closer. If you were right on the ramp directly ahead of you shooting up in to the sky this would be a good pic. A lot of noise and DOF in this as well. Open that aperture up and turn down the ISO.

Keep it up!

3 is probalby the best of the bunch. its good that you kept the ramp in the pic, this gives us a sence of height. just not enough space above him. not sure if that was a crop or straight out the camera. the noise is an issue, going with a bigger aperature would help get more light in and maybe help with the noise as well as blurring out some of the background. it is a bit hard to see the details because of the distance and noise and deep deapth of field.

4. is okay as well. just wish you were a bit closer up to see his face better. and same issues with the noise.

just my opinions

That's exactly wat i did haha, i put a vintage effect on it, i just thought it looked cooler, as you said it was too dark to do anything else with. Thanks though

Thanks was waiting for some detailed critique! trust me i was moving around for a while trying to find a good spot to shoot it from, its alot harder with the 50 instead of my 18-55 that i used to use where i could just zoom right out and get close, but its sort of a rule in skating/biking pictures you need to show the ramp and landing, if i got lower and pointed up i wouldnt be able to get the floor in but ill still take the rest of what you said on board, thanks again.
