Love them all. I personally would take some more time to clean up the hair in the majority of these shots; the 4th one could be really exceptional, but the hair needs some work to get it there.

Thanks! Yeah, I think it's all personal preference. If I lean toward fine art or studio portraits then I'd spend some time clean it up, but I'm more lifestyle. Plus, I personally like messy hair. It's fun and carefree.

From my perspective, it gives the impression of dirty, unhealthy hair, or as if she got her hair all nice to go clubbing the night before and then just rolled out of bed the next morning and went straight to this shoot without looking in the mirror. Mainly the girl in the fourth and fifth shots.

So you were intending to get the hungover glam look? That look seriously can't have been intended by the models, especially at a group shoot.

Who said anything about glam look? Maybe that's your idea for your shoots, but I don't try for that at my shoots and certain not at a group shoot.

This didn't involve models but just a casual meeting of a bunch of photographers improving how we shoot medium format film. People forget that we all have different ideas for our photos, it's an extension our personality. You shoot what you like to shoot and let clients decide if they like it or not. It's subjective we all have our own ways of doing things. If you don't like the hair certain way, by all means fix it in your photos. To be frank, I personally don't ask for the model's intention at my shoots. I'm the photographer, models show up to be part of my creative vision (whatever that maybe). I don't show up to be part of theirs.

I'm just trying to get an understanding of the aesthetic choice is all. Not once did I say I didn't like the shots or that they were bad, just that I think cleaning up the hair could take them up a level.
