Hey All'

I posted pics in the member gallery. Is there anywhere else I should be posting them if I want some reviews? I just joined this site today so I am not too fluent with it.
I've been seriousely shooting (shooting with a purpose and inquisitive mind) for about a year. A year ago I bought a NIKON D3100 SLR...came standard with a 18-55mm lens. I recently bought a 50mm lens with an f/1.8....LOOOVVVIIINNNGG the bokeh'! I am hoping to purchase another lens and or needed equipment to get my business started in the near future. First off, can someone tell me if this camera is "good enough" to go proffessional with. Second, I am looking to do mostly portraits and natural shots...kids in motion/people etc. (not sports and action shots ) What would everyone recommend me investing in? I've heard a speedlight is a must for indoor photos. Also......not sure if this is just a limitation of my camera......but, I always select my focal point (my camera has 11 auto focus points).....and then shoot auto focus because i am almost always in motion around my subject and my subject (usually my daughters) are , lol, ..almost always in motion. Therefore, using a manual focus everytime is simply not practical. I hardly ever shoot shutter prio. because I just don't get the quality that I like. I usually shoot manual...and adjust my aperture, shutt, ISO, white balance, etc. myself. I always shoot in RAW. I posted a bunch of pics to the member site in hopes of some feedback. (be kind....I am somewhat new) I like how my pics have been turning out but my goal is to get my photos to the point that they don't need tweeking with photoshop. I often have to increase the contrast/hue/and clear some shadows. I find that in oudoor settings, often in shade...(because direct sunlight is harsh to me) with an ISO of 200-400 an f-stop of 1.8-2.8....shutter of 1/350- 1/600........white balance; set either cloudy or shade; depending on type of day. I also shoot either matrix or spot...and usually continuous auto. ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR PRODUCING SHARPER AND MORE VIVID PHOTOS? I am practicing positioning my subjects in areas of good natural light. I find that I take more intricate ;photos when I use my viewfinder and the face priority box zooms in. However, this slows my camera down a lot and I miss too much!!!!!!!!
I'll take any suggestion? THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, I'll take the bait and assume that this is a serious question.

First, slow down a little and try and post in something resembling English. It may not seem important to you, but it makes it a lot easier for those of us reading and trying to help.

The D3100 is by no means a professional camera, lacking both the build quality and many of the features of higher-end bodies. That said, it will deliver excellent images in the hands of a knowledgable shooter.

Supplementary light is necessary for most shots; indoor, outdoor or other. Photography is all about the control of light, and if you stop and think, what's easier to control; the sun or a speedlight?

If you can get your images to the point where they need no post-processing, than you are the best photographer in the world. I've been shooting for 30+ years, and from my days in a wet darkroom 'til today, and tens (hundreds?) of thousands of images, I have NEVER SHOT ONE that didn't need some sort of tweaking to make it the best image it could be.

I would suggest that your first step should be to read, and then re-read your camera's manual. Then head down to your local library and borrow every book you can on photography. Doesn't matter if they're old or new, things really haven't changed. Oh, and start saving... to really "go pro" you're going to need to invest money. A LOT of money. A professional body will run you at least $2500 (used), professional lenses start at $1000+ (used), then there's lights, software, tripods... insurance, business-licenses....
Good luck!

IT'S CALLED....NO TIME TO MYSELF. A two year old hanging on my leg, a 5 month old literally nursing from me, dinner on the stove, and two school age kids who need help with homework. It's called one hand typing....if that!

A little more information than we actually needed. If I may suggest, wait until you have time to yourself and can relax a little bit. There are many helpful and knowledgable people here, but when your posts are so difficult to read, it's really hard to provide assistance. We'll still be here tonight, tomorrow, and probably next week!

yes
get a canon 5d mkII or nikon D700 and a 24 - 70 F2.8 and a 70 - 200 F2.8 and ex580 II or a BS 900 flash for startes and good luck with your business

Thank you so much! Right now, time is not something I have and what I do have of it, is very limited. I know how to use my camera and all of it's functioning. I have tons of books and belong to many photography groups so I am getting and soaking up tons of knowledge. I simply tried to squeeze in a desperate post before while doing MANY, MANY other things. I can say that everyone has successful made me feel as if humanity as a whole are just JERKS whithout a heart. Let me say this......perhaps there was someone on this site who wasn't able to afford an education and all they had was their photography? How do you think those comments would make them feel? I, was just being rushed ......I do have a degree and a career so this does not apply. Although my question might have sounded OBVIOUS to everyone......we all started out somewhere and worked our way up. So, basic to you, not so basic to me.
tirediron...thank you so much for your help! I will start saving.

Then maybe you should wait until the kids are in bed and you have free time. I type one handed on my phone (currently) all the time and still write properly.

You will get more feedback if you write properly. English isn't everyones first language on here - not everyone knows slang or "texting" slang. You will also get positive feedback if you do research first before asking the same questions that have been asked a million times.

If you want people to critique your work then post 1 or 2 images. Tell people what you like/ don't like about it.
