here are some water shots that I shot a few weeks ago. These were shot using a Nikon FM with a 28-200 mm lens and T-Max 400 film.

they are interesting attempts at making the photo interesting, but as said, I think you missed the mark

there is just something of interest missing in the shot...no vibrant colours, vast expanses of water, no rocks or other interest.

1- I find the line of the water is too straight in the frame. Maybe shooting at a little lower angle to give more of the impression of depth might help
maybe a slower shutter speed / smaller aperture might of helped to make some interesting lines

2- I dont like how the focus is on that concrete piece. there is also too much of it in the image and the shadow that the waterfall casts is distracting

3- missing something in the image again. The top part of the swirl is cut, so if you are going for a more abstract image with the waves or whatever, then make sure the entire image is in the frame

Keep on shooting though, its by trial and error that we develop an eye/

I will have to try and reshoot these again and use some of the advice given.
