Here are some shots from my 3rd opportunity to assist a wedding with Cindy(bennielou) and her amazing husband Mike...It was a while back, but I wanted to get some opinions.

So far, I have only been assisting pros so I hope it's okay that I posted this here. If not, hopefully a Mod will move it.

Comments and critiques greatly appreciated.

I like the set. Looks like a very nice wedding, and the pictures show that. Detail shots are fun as well.

The people shots are very photojournalistic. You are able to out a litlle more art on the details shot. Then again the details shot are always easier, the strawberries won't move if you missed the first shot. Here is some more detailed comments:

Shot 1 - I like the lighting and fisheye effect. Good work!
Shot 2 - Simple shot, nothing special.
Shot 3 - See "Shot 2"
Shot 4 - There is a weird shadow growing off the bride's head. I would take this shot differently. I would get much closer and shoot somewhere to the left of where you shot it. That way I'd be able to a) not get the groom in complete profile; b) eliminate that weird shadow on bride's head; and c) Either completely eliminate or at least throw that girl in the background out of depth of field so she would be blurred and not detract from shot.
Shot 5 - Since the artifact is cut off on the top center of the picture anyways I'd try to crop to eliminate as much of the audience as I can. Either that or open up and try to get as much of the audience / environment as I can.
Shot 6 - I like the shot. Maybe try -0.3 stop so that priest is not so washed out?
Shot 7 - Nicely done! If you have some expedience with photoshop you may be able to remove that cake reflection on the window.
Shot 8 - See "Shot 2"
Shot 9 - Hmmmm strawberries. I do prefer dark or milk chocolate with my strawberries though. White chocolate is too sweet and does not contribute to the strawberry-chocolate experience. Trust me, I used to own a chocolate factory - I know my chocolate :)
Shot 10 - Simple shot but very important for weddings. I wonder if there is anything you can do to bring out that purple and the red?

Hey buddy, good to see you posting. You already know I love your shots! ;-)

Thanks, I actually liked 2 and 3, but I could see how they are a bit generic.

I was on the balcony next to the organist. Not a lot of options. I think that shot was at efl 420mm at about 1/15th of a second. I do agree that it would have been nice to be closer and/or a different angle but that wasn't really an option for me.

I've gotten better with photoshop, so I will take a try at this one and use layer masks to try to get some of the detail back. The church lighting backlit the couple so I had to make a choice on what I wanted to properly expose and I chose the B&G.

I'll let the caterer know. ;-)

Thanks for your very detailed critique. The above statements aren't to make excuses. You just provided a lot of detail in your critique and I wanted to do the same. Thanks again.
