Something a bit different

I scanned some B&W film, and created a few brushes from selections of other photographs to add some textures and a layered/montage kind of effect. The main image of the stairs & buildings is one I took a long time ago and forgot I even had it until I was looking through a CD full of old photos. I converted the original to B&W and boosted the contrast.

I like the play of light and shadows on the side of the stairs as well as the restless look of the differently coloured bricks of the house. It makes me wonder which side looks "calmer" at all and my eye is torn between both sides for both have regular and restless aspects at the same time. A very interesting picture, essjayyell.
