Something in the water!

While watching the sunset in Key Largo, a baby manatee decided it wanted to make friends with my daughter. It was like a puppy following her around wanting to be petted. We were on the bay side and I knew that guests of our hotel had seen manatees in the bay but I had no idea they were so people friendly or came in to the shallows!

The mom (at least I assume it was the mom) was nearby and she would swim by every once in a while to check us out. Here she is over by the dock drinking some fresh water that someone was pouring for her.

Hampton Inn Key Largo - start packing. I guess it's pretty common to see them there this time of year.

Cool, I've seen manatees in the wild a few times down here, but they've never gotten that close.
