Somis, CA Sunset

I got this picture from the Parent's in Laws house out in Somis, CA. I've been working with a vintage lens and trying to get the knack of it. Send me some critique and ideas!

Detail in the foreground - if the blacks are clipped, then you may not be able to do this, however, it might be worth trying to dodge the foreground a bit . Can't advise you on how to do this, because I don't know what software you are using. I would also clone out the jet trail in the upper part of the image. I do like the colours in the clouds.

I am using Lightroom 4. I wanted to contrast the bottom so that the sky and the sunset were the main focus. I'll try the cropping and i'll lighten the contrast to see what you guys think. The only thing i'm worried about is that the foreground does not come out very sharp. I only have a 10.2 MP camera so its not the sharpest out there.

I'd ditch the foreground idea and search for more visual interest on the horizon.
