would you guys please give me some advice on this len? I am going to get a prime len. And i was looking at this len for a while now. Do you guys Think it is a good buy?

I'd say it's a nice but overpriced piece of glass, similar to pretty much any lens with the Zeiss brand on it... Except for the ones that come built in to Sony cameras.

It's all metal aswell supposedly, the bokeh looks sweet, great resolution figures! Looks like a great lens in most aspects.

At the same time though, the Sigma 85 1.4 is a very good lens and is quite a bit cheaper.

ohh wow much cheaper.. Thanks for the input guys. Anyone have good tips about using a len like the 85mm ?

Its a good lens but that not the best price I have seen for it. The sigma 85mm f1.4 is very nice too. The image resolution is very close to the zeiss for a few hundred less but the build quality of the zeiss is pretty much unmatched. Ive wanted one of those for years now. Another alternative is a sigma 70-200 f2.8 with apo glass. Nice pictures and you would get some more range out of it. Still has a nine blade aperture.
