Sony T3 Question

I have a Sony T3 with a failed sensor and it is out of Warranty. Sony want in excess of $180 to fix it.Since it is not economically sound to have it fixed-what do I do with it? I hate to just throw it in the trash!! Any ideas out there?

You could take it apart, just for the giggles of it. Or if you know a geek that could make something out of it, give it to them.
