What's new

Spadina House in Toronto

Outstanding. Wonderful color. I kept thinking, "that's my favorite!" then the next one came along. I like that you do not ry to include the whole of every room with a wider angle. The view down the stairs, the bathroom with the curtain and tub, the pool room are examples.
What range of exposure did you use for a single image? I am asking, how much exposure did you add on each side of 0.0? I assume you were not using flash. I will certainly look at these again.

It says something about the era in that the kitchen seems to be the smallest room. I would guess the owners did not spend much time in the kitchen, but expected lavish meals to appear from it.

Unfortunately my Nikon didnt get back from repairs in time for the shoot on Sunday. So I had to use my Fuji S5700. Its a point and shoot that works a lot like a slr. I do the HDR shots all manually. The house is quite dimly lit so I was really surprised by how bright the longer exposures brought out the colors. I believe I did 7 shots mostly for each room. Its funny you say you are glad I didnt get more of the rooms I was shooting. My Nikon has a 10-20mm lens which I wanted to use. It would have given me much more of the rooms to see. There was 1 panorama shot of the dining room which I was really pleased at how it came out.

Bynx I absolutely love your HDR. I know some don't care for that style but too me its ethereal and dreamy and rich. Thank you for sharing such a wicked set. I guess I just need to find the right subject to try.

Thanks so much for that mwcfarms. Its nice to hear someone else put into words exactly how I feel too.

I really liked this series. I have tried to take some indoor shots, and I know how hard it is to get them as good as this. Some of the pictures was a little bit “brownish” for me, but overall a very nice series:-)

What a fantastic collection!! I've only started doing HDR a short while ago so I'm still learning, but you seem to have perfected it!!

Long exposures really brought out the colors. The whole place was really quite dreary looking and dimly lit.

Well done Bynx. Lot of time involved in the set. Was at Casa Loma years ago. Not sure how we missed not touring this beautiful house.

Im hoping for the same deal at Casa Loma in January. All the time we want with our tripods to shoot anything anywhere we want. What a deal. Im hoping to get back to Spadina House with my Nikon next time and my 10-20mm lens.
