From my recent road trip -- a typical floodplain landscape with Spring flowers. Cropped or uncropped?

Cropped, otherwise too much of a distraction.

Uncropped, the first image is best. The version appears much more lush with a solid brushing of the yellow Spring flowers. There are no distraction that I can see to warrant any cropping.

Interesting, my eyes seems to focus more to the bare patch at the bottom of the uncropped photo.

Uncropped for me. I agree, in the cropped shot, the bare patch is a little bit too much a point of visual pull.

Oops, my mistake, yes the bare patch of the uncropped is distracting. I mistakenly identified the cropped as the uncropped. Yes, the cropped version is much better and the wider look gives a sense of a vista going on forever.

Am I missing something here? The cropped photo is the top photo without the bare patch and the uncropped with the bare patch.

Ok , between you and Derrel getting cropped and uncropped mixed up I thought there was something wrong with me. :)

Thanks all, yep it's that bare patch that's causing me trouble too.

How about a compromise and while I was at it I decided to warm up the flowers a little?

I like the photo without the washed-out patch! Wash-outs occur in many river delta areas, where high winter ort spring-time water washes out or drowns out seedling plants or wheat, etc.

Got it -- I'll go with cropped and wide then.

I'll avoid the terminology altogether and say that I prefer the very first picture in the very first post :)

Thanks, that's 4 for 4 then.
