Hi everyone, not had my camera long ( 60D) with the supplied kit lens. These are my first pictures I'm putting on here and all comments and criticism is appreciated. Thanks

see what happens if you get down to their level.

see what happens if you get down to their level.

I'll tell you exactly what happens. First you end up with a shot that looks more like this:

Then the two squirrels you didn't see because you were distracted swoop in from the sides, much like velociraptors. They push you down, put dirt in your hair and take off with your camera. Which reminds me, do you still have yours for sale? Lol

Good shot, is the colours changed on this photo? Our squirrels are dull and grey, unlike the more vibrant and smaller red squirrels which are found more up in Scotland

You also have some focus issues going on here as well and more so in the duck shots. If look closely you can see the duck in front the focus is off followed by shallow DOF ( Depth Of Field) and is why it don't look sharp.

Thanks. No color changes on the photo, squirrels in my neck of the woods are either this color, sort of a rusty brown, or black. The black ones aren't very common. Now I'm certainly no expert on the subject but I do have a quick recommendation for you, on shot #2 as Dark Shadow has mentioned the focus is a little off. I've found especially when I'm shooting more than one critter at a time your best bet is to stop down the lens (decrease the aperture by raising the F number)- this will give you more depth of field and let you get both in focus rather than just one.

Chipmunks are even worse.

So apparently I'm the only one plagued by clepto-squirrels? Lol

no. I've had one knock down a hummingbird feeder, then chew it open:

I was actually impressed by that move.

Nope. I had a rogue band of them try to steal my blackberry. I put it down to feed one of them and they over ran it.

Just make sure you don't have any credit card info stored on it - getting Planter's to reverse those charges is a huge PIA.. .lol
