Stationary Kingfisher (6 images)

No BIF's this time, just a few on perches at the estuary for a change.

The colours change according to lighting, time of the year and how old they are. The young ones tend to be a little scruffy until the heavy feathering kicks in.

Anyway ...


1: You looking at me

2: On the look out

3: Late afternoon sun

4: Back with a small crab feast

5: Are you taking photos again, sheesh!!

6: Over the river

And that better be it.

Sony NEX-7 with either the Canon FD 500 F/4.5L or the 800 F/5.6L and could have a 1.4xTC on a couple, in fact there is.

Hey thanks folks and to be honest, #3 is my favourite as well. A huge thanks as always. BTW, #3 was taken at my closest working distance , 3 meters (9 feet). I remember it well.
