strange noise in Sigma zoom

I've got a Sigma 18-125 lens and it just started making a clicking sound and movement inside the lens. It happens at about the same place (24mm) when zooming in our out. Not happy. Any thoughts?

Ok, an update to this. It doesn't happen when the lens is off of the camera, or if the camera is turned off. It's a Nikon D300.

Sounds to me like a stripped gear but if that's the case it would catch at that point even if it was off the camera.

Ooops, forgot to post back. Sent it to Sigma, they fixed it - still under warranty. It's all good now.

Good to know. I recently bought a 50mm 1.4 Sigma and glad to hear they treated you well.
