Stream, could use some CC

Haha yeah it's tough to find good spots sometimes

What about interwebs? For example, CT has a website specifically for waterfalls in CT. I've used it a few times to find nice spots. Anything like that in your area?

Sadly the view in this particular spot isn't great for a wide angle. I tried a few wider shots but wasn't happy with the comp, these are cropped. Good call on the CPOL I'll add that next time, totally slipped my mind on this one.

I'll try and find a more interesting location too and hopefully make use of a wider shot.
You live in Washington DC
just search for "washington DC fountains"
shoot them during the day, and at night

or " waterfalls near washington dc " --> Eastern Waterfall Guide - Recommended Waterfall Trips

heck, I might want to join you one of these long weekends.

Hadn't thought to check for a site like that... good call!

Thanks for the site! I'll have to check it out and see what's around. Honestly the hardest part about me getting to new locations is actually going there. So much going on sometimes it just doesn't work out.

If you ever want to hit a location near me definitely shoot me a PM and if I'm free I'd be more than happy to meet up. Or provide a place to park in DC haha.

Here's one of my local fountains at night - the crop to the right was there because someone was leaning on the edge .. and stayed there forever so I took the shot and left.

Very cool :) I'll have to try the fountains near the monuments. There are some nice ones over there.

Thanks for the assistance guys :)

expose more for the water, and then pull out your shadows a bit in post. This will keep your water from looking like one giant highlight. I try to keep my exposures of moving water at 1-2 seconds, it smooths out the water motion a bit but keeps it from being a big piece of white with no details.

That's a great idea. I'll test that next time I'm out.
