Stroboframe Bracket Shoe Mount, what does it do?

Could be the little 'clamp' that holds the shoe of the flash.

It keeps a a speedlight mounted above the camera and on the lens axis. It can be flipped when the camera is rotated into the portrait orientation so the speedlight is still above and on the lens axis.

The speedlight usually needs to be connected to the camera with a cord.

Surprisingly, I don't find any YouTube video of the bracket in action.

Here you go. See #2 http://www.tiffen.com/userimages/Strobo_intro.pdf
