Well this weekend im going out to the beach to shoot my friend surfing. Any tips?

Thanks

i've taken some surfing photos, but by far do i know what i'm doing. i've got a d70 and i use my 70-300mm which turns out to be 105-450mm with the 1.5 conversion factor thing. I try to get as close as i can, like out on some rocks, find a good footing and try to lean against a large rock for stability. You just have to make sure your camera wont get wet from large waves or sea spray.

Oh and suncream, i got a pretty bad shirt tan from taken photos for 2 hours. :blushing:

Don't change lenses on the beach, particularly if it's windy.
Wrap everything in plastic bags.

You should probably bear in mind that the 1.5x crop factor does *not* turn your 300mm lens into a 450mm lens, it gives it the same field of view but not the same magnification.
