Summer lightning.

Lightning bugs of course. Have had these shots in my head for a couple weeks and once my 70d came in I figured I would give it a shot. Let me know what you think and anything that should have been done differently.

30sec shutter speed. ISO 3200. Aperture 4.5.

Let me ask yall a question on these. My wife wants to get one printed to hang in the house. I have a few concerns. Two of the three the stars are just slightly oof and the one I hit them perfect the trees look slightly oof. I am worried that printing it will exagerrate this and it will not look good. photo number 2 is the one I would print if left up to me but wanted to get some of yalls input.

I'd go with #2. The oof black silhouette shape seems more forgivable than the isolated point of light being blurred.

When I was a kid we would visit my grandparents in Iowa and I vividly remember the lightning bugs. We don't have them here and your pictures bring back happy happy memories.

The second picture is my personal favorite. I think the sky is a tad darker which enhances your lightning bugs a bit more.

I like #2 too. That will be good for printing -- but make your signature a little bit smaller in print as your signature will dominate the shot in printed form. Just a suggestion....

Yeah I plan to down size it actually my print will probably not have it on it since it will just be hanging in the house.

Next question regular print or a different medium. I like canvas's but don't think it would do this one justice.

Naaahhh...put it on a corner, just a little one...sorta like telling everyone who visit that it is yours and not someone else's. Bragging rights! You do not have to explain to anyone.
