Sunrise

I'm having trouble getting what I see onto film with sunrises No problem when it's going down, but it's hard when it's coming up? These are the only two worthwhile out of about 10.

Both of these were from the same spot and same time from two different days on my way to work.

The sun is indeed tough to capture. They are both killer shots, but that #2 and the color is just like wooooow ! Nice job, keep at it.

Oh yeah... are you using a pol filter ?

My vote is for #2 as well b/c of the broad color spectrum. Will you post the specs on these?

#2 1/100s @ f/6.3
If I remember right, for #2, I metered off of a white car parked just out of sight. That was the brightest thing I could find...except for the sun.

The next morning you shoot this woodsac, try F8 or 11 and focus on the fence line.

I agree f/6.3 is a bit too big. Try at least f/11.

What problems are you having with your other photos that you don't like?

Meysha, it's really hard to capture the sun (not just the sky) when it's bright orange. I had the wrong lens on to start and I was in such a hurry after I changed lenses, that I just didn't pay attention to the ap setting. My *rookie move* of the week :mrgreen:

Ahhh ok. I thought maybe you were having exposure problems. But with such a hard subject, can I just suggest to bracket... although you're probably already doing that by the looks of it. Keep at it! Even if only 1 shot works out of a roll (memory card) it'll be worth it
