I like the original image better than the filtered one, but I would crop the tracks out as you are right, they are a bit distracting and that way, you move the horizon line to the lower thirds position which makes for better composition IMHO.

I like the filtered image better. I also like the tracks. Try a crop placing the horizon on the upper 1/3 line eliminating some of the dead sky space using the cloud line as a frame.
