Sunset over Lake Huron

Yesterday we went up to the cottage for Thanksgiving dinner, after dinner I wandered down to the lake to take some shots of the sunset. I've seen some amazing sunsets over the lake and this one wasn't one of those that takes your breath away but the waves were gorgeous so I waited until it went down and took some slower shutter speed shots (not bad for handheld @ 1/4 because I'm a goober and forgot my tripod!)

This is the first one of two processed so far, would love to hear your thoughts, thanks for taking a look!

It feels unbalanced to me... too much foreground, not enough sky... especially for a sunset shot. Maybe ROTS would help here? Saturation seems a bit heavy also

OOOOh ,I like it ! I think some more detail can be had in the shadows ,BUT it does work for me AS-IS .

im kinda torn on this one...
part of me thinks you should cut out the sky entirely and have a nice shot of the rocks and waves, and part of me thinks you should have less foreground and more sky....
hmm...decisions, decisions.

Love the rocks in the pictures and the sky color. Wish there was a slight bit more detail in the shadows.

Lake Huron ... not too far away from me from an international sort of way.

Pr, I like to op better ........Sorry.......... I was hopping you could just lighten the "Shadows" slider in ACR . ? My Taste tends towards "Heavy Handed " post processing . But it looks better to me in the printed version that way . Thus , I like the higher contrast in the op ,but with the rocks as the subject ,I wanted to see more detail in them ........I hope this makes sense .

Thanks guys, yes I think I'm with ya, it needs the deepness of the op but not quite as blocked up looking, the detail is in there to bring out, there are only a couple teeny tiny spots of clipping in the raw file, I'm going to tinker more with this one, I suspect it has a lot to teach me about processing

The other guys probably all make good points, but I like it as is. I don't usually like too much saturation, but it's a sunset.

I consistently struggle with composing landscapes, I have no clue why lol, I did try to crop the sky out of this one but the top just feels really crowded unfortunately I allllmost like it, luckily I have a couple others that are candidates for that composition

Thanks Charlie I'm getting close to liking it better and I think I can get it even closer with some tinkering, but not today, I've looked at the colours wayyy too long lol.
