tamron lens cap 67mm can i replace it with canon 67mm lens cap

hello i have a stupid questionto ask but i will ask it anyway i lost my lens cap from tamron af 17-50 f2.8 <if> 67mm and i found a canon 67mm <
CANON LENS CAP E-67II>
lens cap can i replace it with this
 
Yes. Pretty much all lens caps grip into the filter threads.
 
It'll work (as Sparky noted above), as long as you don't mind giving your Tamron an identity crisis.;)
 
The center-pinch cap with deep grooves is pretty much identical to a Nikon lens cap made since about 2003. I'm not sure what a brand-new Canon cap is like...if it's side-pinch or center-pinch...people who put caps on lenses with their lens shades still on vastly prefer the center-pinch style. I intermingle Canon and Nikon and generic caps willy-nilly all the time. I was lucky a few years ago to have bought what was labeled as "big bag o' Nikon caps, $15"...best photo buy ever! Had about 25 caps of all sizes!
