First the good. Great eye for looking for the unusual and unexpected.

Second the image is over all soft I think.
It is fairly desaturated.

The first thing I saw was the gap in the rungs(?) but it looked like an optical illusion and like the trees came through to this side of the frame. Very confused for a minute.

There is a general lack of subject due to the very busy background.

Try reshooting it. Stepping to the left maybe. Far shallower depth of field (blur out that noisy back ground) and think about maybe making it a high contrast Black and white when you have just the frame/trellis in focus.

Keep shootin! Good stuff! Thats some harsh crits I know but do it agian! Perfect practice makes better.

It is soft, flat, and sadly not a very interesting subject.

On the other hand, the composition is pretty strong, and the exposure is good.

If you could fix the focus issue and find a better subject I think it would all come together for you.

BTW... My feelings on the interest of the subject matter is just that, my opinion. Don't let that get you down. I have been doing this a long time, and I have seen a lot.
