I took my neighbor out to get some practice in. I'll take what advice you are willing to give, just would like to know how I am doing.

In the first portrait, the model is OOF. Also, the bridge in the way makes her almost look detached in a sense. Poor location and poor execution, IMO. Best shot of the bunch is #2.

#1...you missed the focus. It would've been a nice crop of just the upper torso if in focus.
#2...best of the bunch. I don't mind the landscape orientation.
#3...definately would've been better in portrait orientation. Needs some selective sharpening on face, eyes, mouth.
#4...arms going off camera bother me. Maybe some selective sharpening as well. I'm not sure if vignetting is working on 4.
Just my thoughts. Keep out there shooting. Nice model.

Nailed it! ..

Fill lighting.

In the last she looks like she has put some of that black stuff under eyes that football players use.

The eyes are the window to the sole. Make sure the eye sockets have enough light, and that your portrait subjects are well separated from the background, light wise (subject brighter than the background).

That's definately the crop I would've done, it's better but I personally don't think you saved it.

well done!... I love all pictures, but the first one is blured very much

Well I should of paid more attention, I logged onto a different computer and my coloring is all wrong on mine. Now I get to start all over go ahead and laugh I know I am. That will at least maybe fix one of my problems, lol!

I have the same problem with my computer at home. It makes everything look blaaaa, so I fix it and then when I look at them at work they look blaaa again! lol

I really like #2
And #1 would have been great if it was just in focus better.

I definitely need new neighbors....

You would think after having other posts and this being the same problem I would of thought to do this sooner. I posted a photo of a flower color looked perfect on my laptop. But I signed on here and looked and thought I was going to be blinded by the bright color. Hopefully lesson learned, seems like #2 is the winner of the bunch. As for locations there is not much around here we are a small country town. There is nothing here and for the town that is close which is bigger I didn't want to take her there and risk getting shot at, her parents would not be happy with me. What type of locations do you all look for, examples
