I agree that re-processing this image could help it look better. The photo as-shown, looks to me like there has been too much exposure adjustment done to the image, causing his face and his shirt's shoulder area and also his skin-tones to look, well "wrong". Re-processing the image in color, or applying a B&W conversion to the original file, could help this, quite a bit. The darks are pretty plugged up too, and the baby stroller behind him, the red part of it, draws the eye away from him a bit, and I am certain that the baby stroller's red portion will look better when it's monochromatically toned-down, so to speak. I am absolutely certain that his legs, seen against the brightly-lit backdrop pavement, will really "POP!" in B&W; that is in fact,one of the keys to this shot, the way he pops off of that background.

Yes, a much-improved photo as a B&W. I think it could benefit from being a slight big snappier and brighter, however.
