I'd say prepare for the most suitable since User CP is a command most were familiar with before the change and is also present on many other VBulletin based forums. I just dislike change for no net gain and a change in the wording (which is all that has happened, teh control point is still the same) is not giving users any more info; but it is leading to many current and previous users of the site (and others) having confusion as to the controls.

^^^ True, but change is inevitable. Just like my indignation with the search function, the nuances of Settings vs User CP will soon become second nature IMO.

Alright.... here's athoer issue with the search function.....

It's Friday night. there is a thread with a title of "Let's Jam" started by Josh ( username: O|||||||O). So I do a search for the thread and use the keywod(s) 'let's jam'.

KEYWORDS are let's jam, usename is O|||||||O, the result should pop up the thread. Done many, many times in the past.

Now, I KNOW this is a valid thread, but my search result was......​

Now, mind you, I'm only moaning because I use the Search function A LOT!​

The search function as is, is cumbersome, outlandish, and egregious. This should be one of the easier functions available.​

Whoa. I've read through all ten pages. It's nice to see such amiable communication. Thanks eKool for such timely responses to comments, and working hard to try to make the change work.

One thing I've noticed that's different, is that when I post my customary 1024 wide by 683 tall image, it's downsized. BitterJeweler kindly informed me that if I click on an image, it will come up at the size intended by the photographer. Might it be possible when clicking on an image, for that to come up with at least a 50% neutral gray background rather than the white background? I know from reading eKool's replies, that it won't be possible to change the skin's brightness or color, but maybe the background color of the image that comes up?

This clicking on the image to see it reminds me of what we had to do to see 'attached' images properly. And now we need to do this to all the images. Most of my posting is through the themed threads, such as Reflections, or Sky Theme, or Load of Bokeh. I can see that it's going to take me a lot more time to go through threads!

Oh, and that clicking on the image to have it be seen individually (not sure what that feature is really called), has killed the feature of using the image as a link. As you see from my signature, prior to this change I'd commonly link the photo back to its exif page at flickr.

Man, this is more words posted in one evening than in all the two years I've been here. I'm a photographer. I like posting photos, not words.

Let me look into both of those issues. Can you link me to a thread where you've posted large images and linked them to the EXIF data and it's not working for you?

Thanks are now name changed into likes - I recall reading that our previous Thanks were saved and were going to be ported over to the new format of the site (I kind of hope this happens ). Some have also asked that like be changed back to thanks
