Probably dumb luck but I've yet to have gick land on a sensor. Likely due to multiple bodies that
Sooner or later it's inevitable. Brand new K1MII had a grease spot. Could have sent it back and waited XXX weeks for warranty repair. Instead less than 5 mins of my time and it was fixed.

Nikons had an issue with spraying oil, I think from the shutter, a while back. I dont recall which models..

D600. Scale of the problem and denial/foot-dragging forced Nikon eventually to replace many after service "bandaids" failed. CRM disaster.

Actually, I try not to change lenses on my "main body" if I'm not at home. Of course there are practical limits to how possible that is, but I usually carry a pair of cameras if it's important, so the 2nd camera might need a lens change while I'm out. . . .

Good day! Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Here in Texas it is a good weekend to not go outside. 103F/39.4C yesterday, supposed to hit 104F/40C today and 108F/42.2C tomorrow. 🥵 🥵 🥵 I went out early this morning to get the mowing out of the way and the back patio cleaned. Staying in for the rest of the day. I'm itching to go out with the Sony RX10M4, but not that itchy right now. 😂 They are promising us mid-90's starting on Tuesday... we'll see. I need to go fill the birdbath with water for the poor, roasting critters, of course, then they'll just be basted critters instead...

I think Mrs Magpie laid eggs a few days ago because I've hardly seen her, hard keeping track of things now that shes up the road a little.

It sucks to be honest 😥.

Dads been visiting as usual...

Had a beautiful day at the creek yesterday for a session. We had to cancel 2x due to rain or high water. I like walking in the creek as much as I like taking photos at this spot. We started out here and worked our way down a little bit.

Brooke’s, rainbows and browns; also panfish. Hoping for smallmouth or a stripper with the 8.
Good luck. Went out today, early before the heat drove me in.

You play in the water at all?

Bloody hell what a day.

An acquaintance needed some garden work done, if only he'd do a little bit each day it wouldn't pile up on him. Cleaned up an entire backyard, weeded, pruned swept and hosed.

Well he wanted the big bird aviary totally cleaned out, hadn't been done for god knows how long & the same with the pigeon coup.

Made AU$100 cash in hand and got 3 hours tomorrow for another $50, cant complain being tax free. It's going towards the new camera.

Only thing that sucked is one of his birds died on me being on the job. A little white finch that seemed to be sick for many months, was losing feathers and it never flew ever since I've known it.

Seems it got stressed out with me cleaning out the aviary, feel bloody horrible this happened to me. Spoiled my day.

While working on his yard Mum called me to tell me there was a cockatoo stuck inside the kitchen.

Ive got 2 sick cockys that have the beak and feather virus. I thought it might be the regular one, his top and bottom beak is all overgrown and twisted.

Well it wasn't him it was the other cocky, his top beak is broken back to the bone. Got a towel around him and got him back outside. This parrot virus is bloody horrible!
