The Coffee House

We looked at the T-Mobile home internet but you have to be on one of their newer plans. Our current (older) plan allows for unlimited data across all 4 lines, plus all the other goodies. The data access is unlimited, without additional charges, however if you over 5gb (I think) and you are throttled to a slower speed. I can only think of two times that I had that happen, both when I had been using the phone as a hotspot for an extended time.

The 5g home is a standalone wifi router/gateway and is unlimited data, which is different than the previous LTE home, which charged for excess data. However in the fine print, T Mobile says they may throttle you during peak usage based on your data use. I couldn't find anything on Verizon, but I suspect they will also. As I understand it, Verizon does not require you to have a cell plan with the 5G home plan, but does give a discount if you have a cell plan.

Its been raining for two days straight and been in the mid 50s. What the heck.

Anyways I the opportunity to replace my surround speakers that were bookshelfs and install in-wall speakers because everyone said the huge bookshelfs were ugly to look at next to the new furniture.

That was a fun project - cutting holes in drywall.

Overall, its a compromise. Sounds better too since they now are a foot further behind me. Although I can toe them into the listening area, I was able to adjust the tweeters.

No more hearing complaints from the family about ugly boxes on the wall lol.

Well, ugh! Just ugh! UGH! I've been having neck and shoulder pain, which has been affecting my ability to hold heavy glass. Found out today that I have arthritis in the neck vertebrae, and from the looks of it, have probably had it for some 30 years. Ugh! Thirty years would put it while I was on active duty, so I'll reach out to the Texas VA advocate to see if I can get my disability rating upgraded with the new information. So, how is everyone else's day going?

I ran across this "security alert" recently. It goes beyond my current understanding of computers, but the source is, in my opinion reliable, so here is what I have:

Yep, they pushed out a security update. Found out that one of my SSD drives was toast, so not sure if the update did that, or just a coincidence. Good news is that it had my OneDrive on it, so I didn't lose any documents or photos, since OneDrive is backed up to the Cloud. Both my desktop and laptop are now updated. My employer was also pushing out the security update.

Cashed in 3 bags of cans and bottles, $21 richer👍. Mrs Magpie knocked on the front door early this morning for some Wombaroo " well she carrols out by the front door to let me know shes there" took some pics of the king parrots that visted just before.

Making a sandwich and going out to the reserve for an hour.

Ps. Paracetamol helps, kind of😉...

Liveable temperatures are returning, so I'm looking forward to maybe getting out this weekend for some shooting at a local reserve.

Im really distraught😟.

The bloody council is cutting down the magpies tree out the front yard. Had woodlice eating the guts of the trunk, i cleaned the trunk out a couple of years ago and got rid of them all.

Was hoping the council would never notice, but they did yesterday & it comes down in 2 to 6 weeks.

Is it coincidence that Mrs magpie built a new nest in another tree, or are there greater forces at play with her knowing???

Do you need council permission to plant a new tree? A nice crepe myrtle or something like that.

They'll replace it when they get there alotted funds for there next tree planting gig. I've got a purple crepe myrtle in the front yard, a white cherry blossom and a pink cherry blossom in vaders garden too.

They've basically just been planting cherry blossoms from what I've noticed around town, and a couple of crepe myrtles too

Yeah im not waiting 2 odd years for them to put another tree in, just gonna put in a 2nd crepe myrtle myself. If i put in some other species they'll probably cut it down once they notice.

Buggers!

I'm experimenting with trying to grow a magnolia from seed. Found a seed pod on a walk, so I figured why not give it a try.

Local squirrels are expert at planting black walnuts. Constantly chopping down small black walnut trees at the family ruin. Their toxicity kills of most nearby plants, shrubs and trees that can't tolerate juglone.

Temps are down so far this week. Makes walking the nature center pleasant. The youngest and 2 grands maybe coming for a quick weekend visit. Waiting for her decision before I make her favorite cake and get the guest rooms ready. If they don't come this weekend we will then go to the Festival of Nations in St Louis. Too busy and boring for baby and child.
