The Coffee House

Ah, yes, my first encounter with drinking after Basic Training. I was at a follow-on tech school learning to maintain CT-39 corporate jets, and the instructor took us to his favorite watering hole. I had one of those puppies and felt great, got off the bar stool and my legs melted under me...
Coincidentally I know that feeling. Many years ago, I had been driving a truck all day to Indianapolis for an equipment show. Got in the arena, booth set up, and checked in the hotel wore out. They had an indoor hot tub, which sounded good, they also had a phone right next to it where you could order drinks. Before I knew it, I'd downed 6 vodka martini doubles, which was strange, because I wasn't feeling the least bit impaired. Got out, headed to the door, and the next thing I knew I was on the floor, wondering how I got there. Didn't have much time to wonder before the full effect of the alcohol hit me, not a good night, one %^% of hangover the next morning and a valuable lesson learned about hot tubs and alcohol.

Well this was a fun Thursday morning project.

Nice call, to plan for a generator. We still kick it around. The first winter we were here, there were storms powerful enough to cut power here about 3-4 times. Last winter, we sailed through despite a few storms and never lost power.

Final decisions will come when we re-do the back deck, we'll tear it out and assess how much room there is back there. It's a ways off.

Groggy this morning, spent 5hrs in ER with DW, didnt get home till after 2 this morning. She collapsed on me two times last night in the space of a few mins. First time she face planted in the floor with no warning. After checking her over, got her up, she walked three steps and collapsed again. This time she was fading in and out for a few minutes before she was alert enough to get up. Called 911, we had half the department here within mins when they heard who it was. She has a history of seizures but after running all the tests and scans all they could come up with was a bladder infection and mild dehydration. Course the medical wizards at the ER tried to claim it was a UTI the last time after she had a Grand Mal. So now its back to the neurologist to check her out and see if she needs a medication change.
