What's new

The Coffee House

So I got my Macbook back today! I was suppose to get it yesterday, waited all day because I needed to sign for it. Turns out....FedEx put it on the wrong truck 😤

According to the repair paperwork they gave me, Apple replaced the Display & Lid, plus the Lid Position Sensor. So there must have been something weird with it or they just simply replaced it all out of time sake. Who knows. Either way I am happy to report the laptop is in basically brand new condition. The lid feels ways nicer too, like even better than when I bought it.

I didn't have to pay a single thing. Unsure if it was covered warranty or my AppleCare.

Apple sent me the return box with label the very next day I requested the repair which would be Friday. I dropped it off at FedEx Saturday morning, they received Monday, 4 hours later it said repair completed and shipped it back. Like I said I was supposed to have it Tuesday but do it being put on the wrong truck, took an extra day. Anyways. A very quick turn around time and overall an excellent experience with Apple so far!

Hi Hosers! We dodged the nasty storm system that rolled through overnight - we got some sleet, but nothing more. It'll be gone by this evening.

Our next round is for this weekend - 2-4" of snow and high winds all day on Saturday. We have dinner and a play on tap, so here's hoping for the lower end of that snow. Around here, two inches is not a big deal.

I made pho yesterday, so was able to use up the rest of the Christmas prime rib that I've had frozen and waiting. The star anise makes the whole house smell amazing and we were starving all day, simmering that broth.

Paired the soup with seaweed salad and vegetable spring rolls. Fairly awesome dinner.

Weather report said 6-12 inches of snow....it barely reached 4 inches and it has now pretty much stop. This winter, the storm totals they said have been so far off. In the past, they have been pretty accurate so I'm not sure what's going on.

Good evening! It got up to 83F today! I had the windows open until the AC kicked in, then buttoned up the house. More of the same through Saturday, then temps plummet with nights going into the mid-30s. Not much photography action for me right now, since I'm chained to my desk for work, but at least they leave me a bowl of water and some kibbles to nibble on.

@jeffashman pretty much same here on weather and work. DW & I have been up to our eyeballs in closing the books on last year and tax prep.
This year will be the first year in decades that we don't use TurboTax. Our financial planner includes tax prep as part of the services they provide, and TT has just been getting more and more expensive over the years. I have physical this morning, so I took the day off; I'll take Honey for a walk this afternoon weather permitting, although as noted, I took the day off and it is threatening rain of course.

Photobucket kept sending emails for like a year saying they were gonna delete my account. I don't recall every using it so I simply ignored it but today I decided to reset the password and managed to log in to only be told I need to pay $5 to unlock my account. I decided to just delete the account but was presented with a download link of all the content I uploaded to Photobucket and was surprised there were photos I didn't know still existed.

For some reason I had a photo I took of these old tech magazines. It was cool seeing these again. They are long forgotten about now. Circa 2006.

And here's a photo of my first PC I ever built. Definitely brings back memories. I was only 15 😭

Well, that's just not right! I'd at least toss you a piece of cheese, as well - maybe two if you were quiet. :1247:

PB has continued to threaten me, too, for some reason. I downloaded my images years ago, whenever they first announced they were going to start charging.

I get these occasional emails and can't help but wonder: Surely you must know I haven't logged in for years. Delete it already and leave me alone!

Got some more snow overnight, all these little snow storms are starting to add up. The snow in untouched areas are now above my knees and the snow banks I been making with the tractor are getting very big.

I seem to recall the University of MD doing something with this; open house at the observatory and showed folks how set up their telescopes.

Well is everyone ready for Super Bowl LIX?? I'm not a really big fan of Pro Football, but since former Alabama QB Jalen Hurts, is playing for the Eagles......Guess we'll force ourselves to watch. LOL DW has the meal and snacks lined up.

Watching the pre-game show for the Puppy Bowl. I don’t really know who’s playing in the other one. I’ll probably work on the model railroad layout plans.

I haven’t been into pro football for years.
