We are expecting a nor’easter here tonight and tomorrow, or so I’ve heard! I cut down all my dahlias blooms to being inside and left the buds there. Hopefully they won’t get too knocked around by the wind and rain.

Gorgeous!!! Just got the first whacks of frost last week, so the last haul of cherry tomatoes. Been coddling the basil for a last shot of pesto next week--adios summer. Fingers crossed that storm punks out or passes you by.

We made it home without any issues. No real traffic until 3/4 way through Connecticut and another batch near Lawrence, Mass. 10-1/2 hours with three stops.

Edit: Around 540 miles from Baltimore.

I left trailer in MD to save on gas. Really glad because I was against the wind most of the way. Rain held off until we were almost to Mass.

This one was happy to see me.

Today we removed the barriers separating the cats from the dogs... wish us luck... Have you ever held a cat when dog decides to get a closer look? Those claws are sharp! Fortunately, no real harm done. In-laws were here for a week. A nice visit.

Definitely need the welders jacket... Atticus Finch likes to sit on my shoulders, and has decided the best way to get there is to come up behind me, leap up mid-back, and claw the rest of the way up...

Well my day went down hill fast, taking the trash down to the road a little over an hour ago and out of nowhere a &^%$#& wasp stung me on the back of the head. Ive been stung many times over the years, and while painful, they usually ease up quickly. Not this one,....it's still raging. Don't know if it has something to do with how thin the skin is or what.

I was mowing this summer and I 'found' a subterranean yellow jacket nest, (and they found me) .... I was really ticked off. I mean - after all - if I was mowing your front yard, you would probably thank me ... I was mowing theirs, and they not only didn't seem thankful, they seemed angry! There's no telling with some folks.
