Generic Ceylon Tea

Lately I've been trying out some "generic" teas. I've finished a few bags of a Ceylon. For me, it seems to be about 1/2 between an Orange Pekoe (I'm used to "Red Rose" brand orange pekoe) and a Chinese "red tea". Being a "weaker" taste I added no sugar or cream. I felt it was ok, but I'm probably not going to buy it again.

Like decoration, the opposite happens in stages in our bunker. Less trauma.

Same here. Trees, larger inside decos (polar bear and a llama); smaller things; finally MLSIL's village buildings. Decorations for Jeep go in separate bin. Ceramic bear ornaments stay out all year but are put back with the bear collection cabinets. The Sandra Boynton mug ("wee fish, ewe, a mare, egrets, moose, panda, hippo, gnu, deer") will either stay on the mantle or go to the bookcase in the office with a couple other "honor" items.

It's inarguably the most emotional holiday we celebrate. Nearly all our stuff is welded to memories. Have an ancient ornament from my long-gone Mom's childhood that's been around the planet with me for years. Silly? Probably.

Life's too short to settle for lousy tea and coffee. Splurge on beans from Pilot Coffee in Toronto. Not cheap but we deserve all the help we can get at 5am most days.

I am a fan of Harney and Sons Tea. Their headquarters isn't far from me and there is also a cafe and tasting room in a different town also not too far from me.

There are apparently quite a few small, local coffee roasters in the area, so I'm pretty spoiled for coffee.

Agree - life is too short for bad tea, weak coffee, and bar pour drinks.

I don’t drink coffee () but I do love the occasional cup of tea. I like extra strong Oolong tea with sugar and honey. Yummmy and warms me right up! I think I’ll make one now. Just back from a 2 mile hike with some friends and their pups. We stuck to the wooded trails to keep out of the wind. It’s 22° and breezy here.

Got a new robo vacuum/mop combo with the self emptying base. Highly recommend if you have a sheddy pet. The dog is freaking out because this one talks and announces it’s next step. I need to figure out how to turn that feature off or at least turning into a sexy English accented male voice like my phone.

My favorite coffee is the Tchibo line of coffees from Germany. They do a fantastic job. I like their Exclusive, and will be trying their Beste Bohnen (best beans) soon. Tchibo brings back fond memories of sitting in a Konditorei overlooking the Rhine river on as sunny day, paired with a delicious piece of berry Torte covered in Schlagsahne.

I need to figure out how to turn that feature off or at least turning into a sexy English accented male voice like my phone.

I tried a robo cleaner but it was hopeless. I keep too much stuff in piles on the floor. I'm much faster with an electric broom or a real vacuum cleaner.

Korean Singing Groups: Women

With the interest in "Kpop Demon Hunters" I thought I'd dig around for predecessor groups. Here's something interesting: Back when Motown was starting up, as far as I could tell, there were a good array of Male and Female groups. In fact, I tend to like the output of the female groups more, with maybe an exception of Gladys Knight and the Pips, but if you look up their output, it was mainly Gladys singing leads. After a while, the groups started to disappear, with the female groups dropping off faster. It seemed like women seemed to want to break solo more than the guys. Today, there aren't many groups -- just solos. It's disappointing. Anyway, I found a couple of "Killing Voice" clips that I thought I'd link here to give an idea of what the Female Korean groups have been like. I felt that I'd post a couple of the best The first is "Big Mama", posted Jun 22, 2021, by "dingo music". It's about 21:13 long:

Mamamoo: Killing Voice 2020

Mamamoo is the 2nd big female group who, I think, followed BigMama (not so sure that they came out after BigMam -- more simultaneously?). Although by now, it's possible that some following groups have surpassed these two. I think of these as being two of the most influential.
