I tried a robo cleaner but it was hopeless. I keep too much stuff in piles on the floor. I'm much faster with an electric broom or a real vacuum cleaner.

I like that it forces me to be conscious of not doing that. I try to do a quick walk through just before it’s scheduled to run just to check for any dog toys or other stuff laying around.

Bad Bank Day:

I had to call a bank, was left waiting for over 25 min. I've waited even longer before, but this time I hung up. They are never adequately staffed. If I ever find a bank that is adequately staffed on their phone lines, I'll try to mention it.

I woke up to light snow, about 2” (5cm) overnight but it has changed to snow and rain mix. It is currently 25F (-3.8C) so icy in spots. Heading in for my blood donation in a few minutes. I left real early not sure what roads were going to be like (they are plowed and salted or sanded).

I think that the weather around here has been in that general range for about a month now. I take pictures every now and then, and mostly, the sky has a blanket of clouds.

Yesterday put me one day past the half way point in the radiation treatment cycle only 17 more to go, starting to see the end in the distance. We celebrated with take out from an old BBQ place in town. Been years since we've eaten there, it's little out of our nomal route. BBQ pulled pork, BBQ beans, onion rings, and Texas toast....still as good as I remember.

Extremely warm for the season here, high 60s to low 70s, raining for the last two days. Monday we switch back to winter with freezing temps. The fluctuations in temperature have exacerbated the respiratory problems for everyone, particularly the flu, its really spreading. We've only had the sniffles here and there, but we've refrained from being out in the crowds.

It was high 40’s here Thursday and Friday. I enjoyed the reprieve and spent a lot of time outside with the dog. The flu is rampant around here - my brother and his wife have both been knocked down with it for over a week. I’ve been keeping my distance - not easy with them living in my downstairs apartment! But I’ve been careful when dropping off supplies and checking on them.

We've been enjoying an early January thaw, too - all the snow has melted away.

We had our fall cleanup done right before we started getting pounded by snow in December, added lots of mulch, everything cut back and tidy - and haven't been able to enjoy the visual!

Everyone around here was cranky with the early snowfall(s) this season - winter is long enough without taking our "green Christmases" away, too.

After several lovely days of temps in the 40sF, we're going to be back to normal next week. It's nice while it lasts.
