In these parts, it's wind chill that kills the mood. Bearable quickly turns to Shackleton Expedition. Did that this a.m. Punked out after 3k. Snow clearing crapped out for 2 days which put slush on roads and sidewalks that will likely freeze now--beauty! Not relishing the drive to, in and out of Toronto.

The first 28 yrs of my life I lived in snow country. It wasn't so bad with constant temperature. When the temperature hovers around 0 for a few days the humidity goes down and its bearable. Here the fluctuations happen to frequently, you can't acclimate and the humidity remains up.

At this time of year, it’s all about the sun and the wind. If you can stay in the first and out of the second, you’re good. When I check my weather app before heading out with the dog the first thing I check is the wind. If it’s really bad, we don’t go outside. I’ll walk her around inside Home Depot if I have to! If it’s just breezy, we’ll go for a hike that’s more in the woods so we’re not exposed to the wind. If there’s no wind, then we head to our favorite spot which is a golf course with adjacent conservation land that is very wide open in spots and can be really windy.

The changes in barometric pressure are an issue for me. It triggers my tinnitus and headaches. My ears have been screaming the past couple of weeks with all these storms coming through.

The wind chill is deceiving this time of year. We finally had a nice 60 degree day with only a slight wind. Got the first walk of the year in. With this cold weather I haven't been in the photo mood. I took basketball photos of the young grand last weekend. I'm looking forward to the grands cross-country meets.

Completely agree! Even if it’s freezing outside, when the sun shines, it warms up the back of the house beautifully. Pleasant to be in the car running errands, as well. The wind chill can ruin it all.

We'll be *almost* in the 40sF with sun all weekend - bye bye, snow!

I went out today and pushed the snow from most of the driveway. There's a big pile of ice and snow halfway down that slid off the roof. Two piles in the front yard, too.

I finally got around to shooting some paint on the '68 Camaro SS model. I went with red acrylic body & interior. I'm not trying to match GM colors more precisely for this one, but I did order a bottle of Mopar Granite Crystal for the Gladiator model, and a bottle of Detroit Alpine Green (I don't remember Detroit's name for the color) for the diesel engine in the fire platform truck. I'll use the same paint for the diesels in the ladder truck and pumper whenever I get them. I found that York Beach, ME FD used the truck that I'm modeling but they had a 90' (27.4 m) boom and the model has an 80' (24.38 m) boom. I'm trying to decide if it's worth trying to extend the boom another scale 10' (3 m), or 5" (10.7 cm). The kit only has Baltimore City and (I think) Troy, NY decals so I'll have to print some for York Beach.

The Harley decided it was cold enough for an electrical issue. Been outside off and on for two days chasing it down. Gotta warm things up with heat gun to avoid breaking cold plastic parts and wiring. I think I got it we'll see. Sitting inside drinking coffee and polishing chrome parts removed for repair that are filthy from winter riding while they're easy to get to....mmmmmmmm.....coffee.

We're driving the Honda today. Monday weare getting both ispected and renewing tags. I already got the pine tree & star tag for the truck (replaces the default chickadee and pinecone) but I need the stickers. I reserved the current plate number so they just mailed them.

The platelet donation takes between two and three hours. The Kindle library is loaded so I'll just read.

A month ago the fuel pump on my F350 decided to quit working. Had to have it towed to the dealer, which fortunately towing and repair was covered under warranty. HOWEVER, I didn't notice it till this week that there was an increasingly larger spot of oil appearing on the garage floor. Crawled under the truck to find there was a dent in the bottom of the oil filter that had developed a hairline crack. Apparently the Rollback driver got a chain/hook against it. Fortunately it was time for an oil change anyhow, and was able to drive it to the dealer.

Have a guy coming this afternoon to reattach a piece of siding at the very top of our house (40ft off the ground), that's loose. We have a rock and Cypress exterior, which is good for longevity, but it requires maintenance.

Just a few quick phone pics from our snowy hike today. At one point we detoured off of the broken trail and were in knee deep snow for half an hour. It was a workout for sure.

The pups look like they are having fun! Reminds me of when we lived in Colorado and would cross country ski. If you took off a ski, you would sink down.

Harlie had a blast. She’s exhausted tonight. She really goes hard when she’s off her leash. Pretty much runs full out chasing her friends the whole time. She’ll be stiff and gimpy tomorrow morning but will shake it off after a few minutes of stretching, same as me

Howdy Folks! We had a gorgeous week with sunny skies and nice temps. Weekend is here now and <looks outside> it's raining. Yep, because Nature is a sadist... it's supposed to rain on and off all weekend. The system rolled in last night and has left me with a headache to boot, so, fun times all around.
