Yep, because Nature is a sadist... it's supposed to rain on and off all weekend. The system rolled in last night and has left me with a headache to boot, so, fun times all around.

@SquarePeg Is #3 titled "Squatting Dog In Snow". or just the way it's standing. The snow looks pretty, but I'd much prefer looking at it on the monitor, than in real life.

No, I think it just looks that way because he was mid turn around. Tucker would never go on the trail. He heads for the woods when he needs to. It’s one of his best qualities.

Precipitation 101: mop or snow shovel? Heavy drifts devolving quickly into Slurpee-consistency mush. Stuff kept choking the snow blower at the family ruin but it beat heavy-lifting shovel work. Stealth city plows scoop and deposit it at driveway entrances around 3am where it freezes near-solid, worthy of a jack hammer by 7 or so. Tenderized and shoveled away early.

Frau cranked out a Valentine's Day sourdough loaf that the kid QCd pre-photo--oh, well...

Isn’t that always the way? One of my favorite things about being retired is no longer caring about weekends vs weekdays. I only pay attention to what day of the week it is these days when I have to think about traffic - which thankfully is not often!!

Isn’t that always the way? One of my favorite things about being retired is no longer caring about weekends vs weekdays. I only pay attention to what day of the week it is these days when I have to think about traffic - which thankfully is not often!!

I've been retired several years now and one of the things I MISS MOST are weekends and holidays. When I was working, I looked forward to those days, now they're just like every other day.

I've been retired several years now and one of the things I MISS MOST are weekends and holidays. When I was working, I looked forward to those days, now they're just like every other day.

Actually they’re worse than any other day because everyone else is clogging up the roads and restaurants and shops. . Or off from work and here! sitting in my spot on the couch, making a mess in my kitchen or hogging the washer and dryer. I do most of my staying in relaxing and house chores on the weekends so I can avoid the crowds unless I have plans with my still working friends.

State inspections for both vehicles were done today. I'll get the registrations done in the morning, and put the new Pine Tree tags on the truck; MLW wants to keep the Lobster tags on the Honda, and the trailer has a two year registration so next year for that.

Going south next week for MLSIL's and my doctors and taxes. I haven't sold or bought a house before so I'm going with a pro. MLSIL is paying part of the motgage so we're going in together. I also changed residency so I'll pribably have to pay something to MD. Once MLW officially changes her residency, it will be easier.

I've been retired several years now and one of the things I MISS MOST are weekends and holidays. When I was working, I looked forward to those days, now they're just like every other day.

I just thought of working rotating shifts at the 9-1-1 center. Working holidays meant overtime and working weekends with mid-week days off meant fewer $&$@$** to deal with if I went out anywhere during the day. Of course I missed a few family gatherings but the holiday overtime was nice. We'd get a choice: 1-1/2 time and pick another day off or 2-1/2 time. With 12 hour days, it added up.

On the troll trail. NC Arboretum in Ashville had a dozen visiting. A Dutch artist made them from old pallets and other reclaimed wood.

They must have gotten really popular. There are about 6 or 7 places in NC that have one version or another.
