Happy Spring Equinox, hosers!

Couldn't have asked for a prettier afternoon - after some morning clouds and a few showers, it's cleared up, sunny and 70°F outside.

I've been poking around the garden and doing a bit of cleanup, but it's still in terrific shape from the fall cleanup. Just watching the daylily shoots coming now.

The heat of the day has already left us; tomorrow will feel more like March again. We're enjoying the sun while we can.

Yeah . Started out with some rain, and now we have a light cover of snow. More coming Sunday (4" to 5"; 10cm to 12.7cm), Thursday (1" to 2"; 2.5cm to 5cm) and Friday (less than 1"). It is supposed to get above freezing so I'm not going to worry about shovels and snow blowers.

Well hello there Campers! Well, no Spring here in North Texas. It's jumping from 35F/1.7C last Sunday to 98F/37C this coming Sunday. Mother Nature needs to have her thyroid checked, for sure.

In other news, Sunday is my Dearest's birthday and Monday is our 41st Anniversary, and I'm not buried out in the back yard somewhere, so I must have done something right... Sunday we will have family over to celebrate and I'll be doing burgers and brats on the grill in fine Texas style... well, sort of, I'll be wearing my Hawaiian parrot shirt with the "No shoes, no shirt, no problem" sign on the front. This weekend I'm taking a break from my abstention and stocked up on Guinnes Extra Stout, Paulaner Lager, Paulaner Weizenbier, and a Texas Pilsner, and some Cab and Riesling for those that prefer wine. And sodas for the kiddos. The Jimmy Buffet station will be playing on the sound system, and I'll be roasting in the 98 degree heat pretending I'm somewhere in the Caribbean...

Gonna be 90 tomorrow here in St. Lou. We go from winter to summer with very little spring....But then again we sometimes have snow in April..........!

Hosers! Typical mid-March blustery day here. I’ve been running around for the past few days adulting. Vet check up for Harlie, taxes, car inspection, grocery run, Mom’s pre-op appointment heading into her cataract surgery next week… all the fun.

Monthly dine out tonight with the usual suspects. It’s my turn so I get to choose the restaurant and pay the bill. This way is so much easier than trying to poll everyone to try to come to a consensus on where to go and then have to do all that mathing to split up the bill! Only one rule - your choice has to take reservations. My pick tonight is an Italian place that has amazing drinks and home made pasta and the best crème brûlée…

Headed off to the mountains tomorrow to an observatory for a dark sky viewing and program. Hopefully the clouds will stay away.

Well it was canceled. Cloudy and light rain made them not want to uncover the telescope, so no viewing. Would have been nice, looking through a 34 inch f3.6 telescope.

The good news is I’m sitting at a cabin in the mountains, on the deck and it’s 73.

It started snowing little, light flakes about 6:00 AM and stopped around 4:00 PM. I guess we got 4" or 5". The temps were above freezing for a good part of the day so it started melting, but moreso mqde it wet and heavy. I just ran the blower and cleared off enough to make the droiveway passable, though we'll have to shovel around nthencars where the doors are. I didn't want it to turn to ice sincve it will go below freezing tonight.
