Happy Memorial Day. Remebering the vets that are no longer with us. For me, dad and my uncle Albert.

Dad was a sheet metal mechanic in the Navy Reserves (Anacostia NAS and JB Andrews). In civilian life he was a computer operatror, then a programmer, an analyst, then the Computer Security Officer at Department of Energy in Germantown, MD. He was on the team that developed the first automated payroll system for the Dept of the Army.

Albert was a Navy pilot in WW2, and a "mechanic" test pilot (checking out aircraft after being in the shop) at Patuxent River NAS in southern Maryland. In civilian life he was an FAA Safety Officer at what became Reagan National Airport.

Summer season is here. A couple trucks with boats drive by the house on most days (the boat ramp for the lake is down the road). I saw someone with a kayak, yesterday.

We tripped to the hardware store and picked up some gardening stuff. They had baby ducks and chicks for sale, so cute. I wish we knew how to raise them. Fresh eggs would be nice.

Hiya Folks! Memorial Day here in the USA, remembering the brothers and sisters-in-arms who are unable to be with us on this day. As they say, "All gave some, some gave all..." A time to reflect on the sacrifice they made. We especially remember those who never came home, those who stand duty at Davey Jones Locker, those who have been buried by the sands of time.

All I can say is that prostatitis sucks, really. But I'm on the mend with some mega antibiotics, but I won't be able to go out for about a month without dressing for the deserts of Dune. One step, slide, one step, hop, slide, step... I think that will fool the sand worms...

Platelet donation today. I clotted the needle after one unit so they had to stop. It looks like a nice whole blood next time to help bring hemoglobin down a bit.

We had a nice weekend. Had some family over and got some yard work done. Not sure if I said previously but we got one of those Blackatone griddles recently and Princess has been cooking up a storm! Shes a keeper.

We had a rain storm come through here yesterday. The wind was so strong it blew the door off of my shed. I’d left it open a tiny bit because we were worried some baby bunnies had been seen running in there and we didn’t want them trapped. Yikes! No other damage. There was a loud crash and we thought a tree had fallen onto the house at one point but it turned out to be a 3’ meteor entering the atmosphere near Boston. Apparently the sonic boom was heard all the way to Rhode Island! I thought the end was nigh for a second there. With the way things are going it wouldn’t surprise me. Time to eat all the cake and spend all my money.
