Intermittent rain, today.

I heard the loon on Thursday, but no visual. It sounded like they were in the direction of the dam, so I might have seen it had ai gone down to the pond.

Zoe was limping, yesterday, so she got a ride to a vet. Nothing was found in her paw and nothing seemed to have been out if place. They did some bloodwork while we were there and most of the results were fine. A little concern over blood sugar but it wasn't too high. The other elevated levels could be due to the stress if getting her there(she does not like the carrier or the car).

MLSIL made it driving to Florida, yesterday afternoon. It took her forever to get to South Carolina due to a major traffic incident; we think it was a bus crash in Virginia.

The local lobster pound is charging $9.99 for the "pounders" plus a couple dollars each to steam them.

I went to my eye appointment. It has been a long while since last checkup. I use an older pair in my office desktop viewing. I don't wear glasses all the time, just to read. The old pair is getting more difficult to see the screen. I use the old pair because I forget to bring my other pair up from downstairs. Hopefully I'll be better for editing and reading TPF.

Speedy recovery to Zoe. Our Daisy had something similar, but we were not able to determine the issue.

Get a portable blind and camp out with the camera. Would love to see a loon pic.

Howdy Folks! I'm on the mend here, but bummed that I won't be able to go out for a while due to the risk of UV poisoning if I don't dress for the deset sands.

A mated pair of Carolina Wrens started moving into the Wren House. They've spent the last couple of days flying in with bits of fluff and grass for the nest. They have such a wonderful song. Pix to come eventually, if they will sit still long enough.

Joined a FB group called Birds of Southeast Texas, and they actually approved my membership in spite of my first post. Someone was trying to identify Whistling Ducks in a tree, and I posted "M R Ducks..." Got approved anyway. Unfortunatley, nobody picked up the theme, so it stopped at M R Ducks. Apparently they allow shots from anywhere in TX, not just SE TX. Anyway, they've been warned...

Hosers! I took myself to a dermatologist for the first time ever, due to a spot on my forearm that I didn't like. Very nice group of people. That spot ended up getting biopsied; plus another biopsy taken in an area that wasn't even on my radar. She also declared "pre-cancerous cells" in a third area and zapped it with liquid nitrogen to kill them, and injected a small node on my face with something evil to kill it.

Very humbling experience! But I'm glad I decided to just do it. No word on the biopsies yet; no news is good news apparently. So by the middle of next week I can relax about it. (Not overly worried if anything is positive, based on what she was saying I brought myself in at an early stage.)

This is what I get for being an aging blue-eyed blonde.

Dad was always out in the yard working on the plants. He had the same thing, a spot on his ear.

I try to wear a brimmed hat when I’m working outside. I need to get into the sunscreen habit.

Too many skip access to dermatologists as part of a regular healthcare strategy.The only hitch, though, is that many prioritize cosmetic service bucks over routine exams and treatment that can delay exams. That's sometimes true here in our socialized system.

I have my first visit with the Maine Doctor in a couple weeks. Medicare says I'm due for the annual physical, so I guess we'll knock that out, then.

MLW and I just got back from a short drive to the local-ish municipl airport. The runway is roughly NE-SW so a fairly good view to the North. Five minutes away and the aurora watch updated as a no-go. Well, it was a nice ride.

We might go to a strawberry farm tomorrow.

Next time. I'm thinking I can go 5 minutes and get to the south end of the pond. There's enough of a shoulder along the state road so I can pull off. This is one of the times I wish we had a pontoon boat - aurora watch party on the water.
