Hosers! Happy almost summer. 100° here today. Yuck! Yesterday was just as awful. Thunderstorm came through about 530 yesterday afternoon and cooled everything off to a nice comfy 75°. Hoping for the same relief today.

The pup is not happy about the lack of walks these past two days but this is way too hot for me to be outside. I’m currently hiding in my house enjoying some Netflix. Once the sun goes down we’ll get our walk.

The temperature swap actually worked! It was in the mid-70s here today...

Upper 90s for second day. Records broken for Augusta and Portland, tied in Bangor. Possible freeze/frost in northern Maine tonight.

I tried donating platelets yesterday but the machine had an issue and there were bubbles in the return tube. They quickly aborted the procedure.

Ugh! Went to be Thursday with a 101F/38.3C temp, missed work of Friday and spent all day in bed surrounded by dogs, going through the fever and chills routine. Yesterday I went to urgent care, now I'm set up with antibiotics. Fever is now in the safe range and I'm feeling a little better. Not how I wanted to start the long weekend.

Sounds awful. I can't stand being that ill. Don't take it well and can be difficult to be around. Hope things get better for ya.

It's grey rainy and cool here so I'm creaking like an old wooden boat. Getting old has it's advantages but I'd give em up to feel good more often.

That's awful! Whatever it was, it hit hard. I'm glad you're on the mend and feeling better.

Fevers stink. Over 102 and I hallucinate that I dropped blotter acid at a Dead concert in 1967.

I got the grass cut, yesterday, even the hill-that-can't-be-easily-mowed and the area around at "Rock." It was still pretty wet. I'll get the lake bank the next time if it's relatively dry, otherwise I'll use the push mower or trimmer. While I was mowing thew side, I startled one of the chipmonks. It rand to the woodpile.

I picked up a pair of loppers s0 we can trim back some of the trees. I snipped off three or four of the lilac twigs/blooms and put them in water. I'll get hand pruners and a pole saw later.

Today's project: replace a warping drawer bottom on and old dresser for Lazy Lobster. Two cuts of 1/4" (6.3mm) plywood on the table saw, a couple clamps, and a few finishing nails and it's done. I might hold on to part of the old one (looks like 1/4" oak) to use as a painting panel.

MLW and Lazy Lobster saw a pair of B'more Orioles out front the other day. I still hear the cardinal in the morning, but heard something new (to me) this afternoon. It was in one of the cedars along the driveway, but I couldn't see it. Maybe next time.

MLSIL got excused from jury duty (District Court) for age. She's happy. Her travel buddy broke one of her toes so MLSIL is going down to Florida to help her get by for a few weeks. TB offered to fly her down but MLSIL wants to drive. She want's to swing by Laurel, MS on return trip and check out a hotel that was remodeled by the "Home Town" couple & crew (one of her favorite shows).

Um, I did laundry today, changed the oriole's nectar and yesterday made an enormous batch of potato salad for the Memorial Day menu. Sipping coffee atm.

I try. Next thing is remove the little wall-mounted shelves that were left in the basement and put up a real storage shelving unit for various boxes and tubs. Then try toorganize the fishing rods & reels, tackle boxes, and other gear.

She has one planned but I'm glad it isn't me - FL in summer? No thank you.

Warm 90s with abundant sunshine for me. Just got back from Mexico to overcast dreary St Louis. Today it finally broke and sunshine. I took my little Sony RXIV instead of the Fuji because of my frozen shoulder. Did I miss my Fuji, yes. I only took a few photos with some video. I have 3 years of Mexico video that I've been wanting to make into an art video. Been missing my inspo.

Thanks for the well wishes, Everyone! The combo of pushing fluids, bed rest, aspirin, and the antibiotic has made me more human, so much so that I cleaned the kitchen and made goat street tacos for dinner. It's no fun being married to a BSN when you are ill. Everyone thinks, "Oh! You have a live-in care giver!" Nurses... "Did you pee today?" "Have you gotten up and walked around?" "Did you have a BM today?" "You want water, you know where it is... moving will be good for you..." But let me turn that table around, I'll be seeing Med ppl make the worst PTs. We had to canx a pizza party and game night we were going to have, so instead I'll be propped up in bed watching more episodes of Fallout.
